Choosing an eufy camera starts with the exact model, its storage location and how you expect to use recordings. Do not assume that every device in a brand uses the same hub or supports the same functions. This is a planning comparison; Rhodium supplies Dahua, Hikvision and HiLook cameras, and does not present this page as an eufy sales listing.
Identify where the recording lives
eufy’s storage compatibility table lists different arrangements: some cameras store on a HomeBase, others on the camera or another device. NAS and cloud support also differ. Check the precise model and current compatibility documentation before buying an expansion camera.
Make a small inventory of the camera, HomeBase or chime, storage device and app account. Ask the seller which part retains the recording and what happens if that component is disconnected. A phrase such as local storage is not enough to identify the complete purchase.

Match the charging routine to the household
For a battery model, consider who will recharge it and how easily it can be reached. A mounting position that looks tidy may be inconvenient to service. Write down how often you are prepared to inspect the battery and recording status; ask for guidance for the actual model and scene rather than a universal battery-life promise.
If you want several fixed views and have a practical cable route, compare a wired recorder system as well. Include the cabling and setup work in the comparison, not just the camera box price.
Decide what must happen before an event
Take a driveway arrival as a planning example. Do you need the approach before motion triggers, the person leaving the vehicle, and their walk to the door? Ask the shortlisted system to demonstrate the recording sequence and its configured schedule. Do not assume continuous recording, pre-event footage or particular detection functions without model confirmation.
Then find that event from the following day and export it. This checks whether the workflow suits you, beyond whether the live picture looks good.
- Verify the camera and hub model together.
- Check recording behaviour for your chosen power mode.
- Ask about storage replacement and what happens when capacity fills.
Price the complete working arrangement
Put the hub, storage, mounting, charging accessories and any optional subscription beside the camera price. Compare these with the recorder, drive, cabling and setup in a wired quote. Ask how another camera would be added later and whether it changes the required storage or hub.
For either option, record who controls the primary account and which household members can access footage. Keep firmware maintenance and lost-phone access in the handover conversation.
Compare your shortlist at the showroom
Bring your eufy camera and hub model numbers, the entrances you want covered and your preferred recording routine. Use the visit to compare the workflow of available wired systems; eufy stock or an eufy demonstration is not assumed.
Visit Rhodium Security at 12 Stelvio Close, Lynbrook VIC 3975. Working camera demonstrations are available; call 03 8787 8779 before travelling to confirm a particular model or feature. Public customers are welcome without a trade account. Open Monday–Friday 9am–5pm and Saturday 9am–1pm; Sunday closed.
