Practical home security support after a crime
If you are considering home security after a crime, Rhodium Security can help you discuss cameras, alarms and intercom options for your property. Start with the entrances or areas that concern you and the changes you want to make. You do not need to describe the incident in detail to ask about equipment or an installation quote. Our showroom is at 12 Stelvio Close, Lynbrook VIC 3975.
CCTV, alarms and intercoms for your home
A useful security plan considers how you enter, leave and use the home. Equipment should suit those routines, the building and the people who need access. We can discuss Dahua, Hikvision and HiLook cameras, alarm options and video intercoms without assuming that one package suits every property.
- Security cameras: plan views of your own entrances, driveway and side access, with recording and playback requirements identified.
- Security alarms: discuss entry points, occupied rooms, arming routines and who needs user access.
- Video intercoms: compare visitor communication and compatible door-release options for the existing entrance.
- Existing equipment: bring model numbers so compatibility, account access and possible upgrades can be assessed.
Request an itemised home security quote
Send your suburb, property type and the equipment or coverage you want to discuss. A floor plan can help, but please do not email police statements, identity documents, incident evidence or passwords. If a support worker or representative is helping you, tell us who you authorise to discuss the equipment enquiry.
- Identify camera, recorder, alarm or intercom models and quantities in the proposed scope.
- Separate equipment, cabling, mounting, configuration and handover costs.
- Confirm installation access, appointment availability, payment terms and any exclusions before booking.
- Tell us your preferred contact method and whether it is safe to leave a message.
Victims of crime security assistance in Victoria
Victoria’s Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) may cover eligible safety-related expenses following a violent act, including CCTV installation, alarms and intercoms. Eligibility and payment are determined by the scheme; experiencing a crime does not automatically mean security costs will be funded. Rhodium Security is an independent security business, not the scheme or an approval authority. Confirm your circumstances with FAS or your adviser before committing to expenses.
Using a security quote when enquiring about FAS
The official guidelines require evidence of costs and why the expense is needed because of the violent act. A quote can document future costs, but it does not guarantee assistance. The guidelines also require appropriately qualified and registered providers where applicable. Confirm the proposed installer’s current licence or registration and the scheme’s requirements before engaging installation work. For future expenses evidenced by a quote, the guidelines say assistance is not provided until the service is delivered and an invoice or receipt is supplied. Discuss payment arrangements before booking; no direct scheme billing is promised here.

Security for victims of crime: common questions
Can I enquire without explaining what happened?
Yes. Start with your suburb, property type and the areas you would like cameras or other equipment to cover. Please keep sensitive incident documents out of the initial equipment enquiry.
Are security cameras for victims of crime free?
We do not offer an automatic free-camera entitlement. Equipment and installation require a confirmed quote. Any financial assistance depends on the relevant scheme’s assessment and conditions.
Can you help me compare cameras, alarms and intercoms?
Yes. Discuss the views, entry points and daily routines you want the system to support. We can prepare an equipment and installation discussion around your property and existing system.
Can my support worker help with the enquiry?
You can involve a support worker or representative. Tell us who you authorise to discuss the quote and which contact method is appropriate for you.
