RDRS-NC Roller Shutter Reed Switch – Normally Closed The RDRS-NC Roller Shutter Reed Switch is designed for monitoring roller shutters, garage doors, commercial doors and other security applications where a robust magnetic contact is required. Built with a metal alloy housing and supplied with a nickel-plated neodymium magnet , the RDRS-NC is suitable for tougher alarm installations where a standard door reed switch may not be practical. It is commonly used to detect whether a roller shutter or garage door is open or closed as part of a hardwired alarm system. Roller shutters and garage doors often require a stronger and more durable magnetic contact than a standard surface reed switch. The RDRS-NC provides a wider 50–60mm gap and a heavy-duty design, making it suitable for larger moving doors where alignment and durability are important. Installation Notes The reed switch and magnet should be mounted securely and aligned correctly to ensure reliable open/close detection. The stainless steel armoured leads help protect the wiring near the contact, making the unit better suited to commercial and industrial-style installations. Installation should be completed by a licensed security installer or a competent technician familiar with alarm zone wiring and normally closed circuit configuration.
